UPDATE (07/23/2010): S4C is in the process of an upgrade. The challenge will return in the fall of 2010. If you would like to be kept informed of what’s happening, add your name to our mailing list.

What happens when you cross flash fiction with serialized fiction?

You get The Super-Short Summer Serial Challenge (S4C).

During the month of July, writers are challenged to tell an original serialized story in nine to twelve installments, with each installment being fewer than five hundred words. Participants post story installments to their personal websites or blogs throughout the month. Once writers have completed the challenge, they can submit their final story to Declaration Editing & Design to be considered as one of five serials published in The S4C Spotlight.
